A Peek in the Biblio-Bin - #11

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by The Story Siren. It is a way for bloggers to share what books they have won, received for review, bought from the bookstore, borrowed from the library or friend, etc.

This week Nat gives you a Peek in the Biblio-Bin.

When it comes to relationships, Colin Singleton’s type is girls named Katherine. And when it comes to girls named Katherine, Colin is always getting dumped. Nineteen times, to be exact.

On a road trip miles from home, this anagram-happy, washed-up child prodigy has ten thousand dollars in his pocket, a bloodthirsty feral hog on his trail, and an overweight, Judge Judy-loving best friend riding shotgun but no Katherines. Colin is on a mission to prove The Theorem of Underlying Katherine Predictability, which he hopes will predict the future of any relationship, avenge Dumpees everywhere, and finally win him the girl.

Love, friendship, and a dead Austro-Hungarian archduke add up to surprising and heart-changing conclusions in this ingeniously layered comic novel about reinventing oneself by Printz medalist John Green, acclaimed author of Looking for Alaska.

One cold night, in a most unlikely corner of Chicago, two teens—both named Will Grayson—are about to cross paths. As their worlds collide and intertwine, the Will Graysons find their lives going in new and unexpected directions, building toward romantic turns-of-heart and the epic production of history’s most fabulous high school musical.

Hilarious, poignant, and deeply insightful, John Green and David Levithan’s collaborative novel is brimming with a double helping of the heart and humor that have won both them both legions of faithful fans.

  3. Grace and Giselle - Thanks for checking out our IMM. You both had amazing hauls this week.

Another blogger (Heidi at YA Bibliophile) insisted we try John Green so I made the leap. So glad I did. I will be starting Will Grayson, Will Grayson tonight. It looks extra interesting because I also love David Levithan AND all three of us Bibliojunkies have lived in Naperville, IL at one point or another :)

  7. Em and April - I picked up both of these at the library last week and finished An Abundance of Katherines already. It was one of the funniest books I have ever read. There aren't many books that I will push my husband to read but this is one I will insist he enjoy:-)

Heidi - Thanks for the tweet :-) And oh boy. Started watching vlogbrother YT videos this weekend and have absolutely fallen in love with both Green brothers.
