The List by Kate L. Mary

***1/2

The List. Twenty things every girl must do before she turns twenty. . .

Body piercing
Get drunk
First kiss

But thanks to her crazy, over-protective father, Annie Roth is way behind schedule. Good thing it’s her first semester of college, because Annie is more than ready to start checking off items. . .

Fake ID
Skinny dipping
Road trip!!!

Where it gets complicated? Ryan and Chris. Best friends. Both sweet, funny, totally hot, and totally into Annie.

But there are some things on The List that Annie only wants to do with Ryan. . .

Lose it
Get Heart Broken
Fall in love

Annie is a fish out of water at college.  It's her first taste of freedom after growing up with a seriously over-protective family.  She's never been allowed to go out by herself, let alone have friends, go on dates, or any of the other things a teenager does.  She's socially awkward, naive, and completely lost in the college experience.

Her roommate, Cammi, brings her into a group of friends, including Ryan (Cammi's cousin) and Chris, Ryan's best friend.  Annie has no idea how to navigate guys and dating and while she's inexplicably drawn to Ryan, she ends up dating Chris.

Ryan grew up with Cammi because his mother was sick for years before dying.  He doesn't let people in, but he's drawn to Annie.  Too bad his best friend is really into her.

Annie and Ryan hide their feelings and fight their attraction to one another, but they continue to grow closer until not being together is unimaginable.  Will the group of friends be able to weather the storm when everything is out in the open?

The List is an incredibly fun and engrossing book that will keep you up until the wee hours to finish.  Watching Annie try to figure out how to be a young adult, all innocence and awkwardness, is highly entertaining.  While Ryan and Chris are the book boyfriends we all want.  Their group of friends is made up a quirky cast of characters and I look forward to reading all about their descents as well.  Calli's book, No Regrets is already available and downloaded on my Kindle!
