The third sexy and emotional novel in debut Avon author Lia Riley’s Brightwater series set in the mountains of Northern California

Sometimes the worst mistakes turn out to be the best…

Smoke jumper Wilder Kane once reveled in the rush from putting out dangerous wildfires. But after a tragic accident, he’s cut himself off from the world, refusing to leave his isolated cabin. When a headstrong beauty bursts in, Wilder finds himself craving the fire she ignites in him, but letting anyone near his darkness would be a mistake.

After her Hollywood life went up in smoke, Quinn Higsby decided to leave Tinseltown behind and returned to Brightwater to care for her ailing father. Spending her days in a small bookstore, her peaceful existence is up-ended by a fascinating but damaged man. Quinn is determined to not to be scared off by Wilder, not once she’s experienced the heat of his passions.

But when an arsonist targets the community and Wilder is accused, he must confront the ghosts of his past. Will his desire for Quinn flameout or will he be able to tame the wildness inside and rekindle a hope for their future?

Lia Riley writes offbeat New Adult and Contemporary Adult romance. After studying at the University of Montana-Missoula, she scoured the world armed only with a backpack, overconfidence and a terrible sense of direction. She counts shooting vodka with a Ukranian mechanic in Antarctica, sipping yerba mate with gauchos in Chile and swilling XXXX with stationhands in Outback Australia among her accomplishments.

A British literature fanatic at heart, Lia considers Mr. Darcy and Edward Rochester as her fictional boyfriends. Her very patient husband doesn't mind. Much. When not torturing heroes (because c'mon, who doesn't love a good tortured hero?), Lia herds unruly chickens, camps, beach combs, daydreams about future books, wades through a mile-high TBR pile and schemes yet another trip. Right now, Icelandic hot springs and Scottish castles sound mighty fine.

Right Wrong Guy Review Tour by Lia Riley

* * * *

Sometimes two wrongs can make a right...

Bad boy wrangler, Archer Kane, lives fast and loose. Words like responsibility and commitment send him running in the opposite direction. Until a wild Vegas weekend puts him on a collision course with Eden Bankcroft-Kew, a New York heiress running away from her blackmailing fiancĂ©…the morning of her wedding.

Eden has never understood the big attraction to cowboys. Give her a guy in a tailored suit any day of the week. But now all she can think about is Mr. Rugged Handsome, six-feet of sinfully sexy country charm with a pair of green eyes that keeps her tossing and turning all night long.

Archer might be the wrong guy for a woman like her, but she's not right in thinking he'll walk away without fighting for her heart. And maybe, just maybe, two wrongs can make a right.

Remember in my review for Last First Kiss how I confessed to not being a fan of small town romances? But after finishing LFK I’d changed my mind and became eager for the next book? Well, it was worth the wait! Right Wrong Guy mixes a bit of naughty with nice and some laughs, too!

Archer is the youngest Kane brother and where is more handy man, he's more handy with the ladies. That’s putting it delicately. He has a reputation all over Brightwater of being a man-whore and he’s unapologetic about it. However, his love ‘em and leave ‘em lifestyle has been wearing on him lately and he’s wondering if there’s any more to life than what he’s been up to. Archer and Edie meeting at a diner in Vegas is fortuitous. He’s just escaped from what may be his last one-night stand and she’s narrowly escaped walking into a bad marriage. On a whim, she catches a ride with him to Brightwater where she decides to create a whole new life for herself.

Edie has always felt like an outsider despite her family’s fortune. She’s been a quiet and compliant person all her life, someone who makes no waves about anything. Finding out her almost husband is a d-bag is the wake-up call she desperately needs. No longer will she be the butt of anyone’s joke. She’s going to be in charge of her life. She’s attracted to Archer but even she’s aware of his sordid reputation. After her bad experience with what she thought was love, she’s not willing to put her heart on the line again. Archer is set on waiting for Edie to come around and see that he is changing and that he only has eyes for her. In the meantime, he also has to prove himself to another important woman in his life – Grandma Kane, a grumpy but firm (and funny) woman who expects Archer to grow up and take his family responsibilities seriously.

The Brightwater books have fast become my favourites. There’s just the right amount good vs. bad that our heroes and heroines have to battle through. It’s fun to root for these characters who are charming and sweet and see how it all pans out in the end. I'll say that I liked RWG a tad bit more than LFK simply because I tend to have a thing for those naughty boys who end up wanting to better themselves. Up next is a book about Wilder, the elusive eldest Kane brother that no one has seen or heard from in ages. And the teasers that Lia Riley has posted have me all excited!

Excerpt

Archer Kane plucked a dangly gold nipple tassel off his cheek and sat up in the king-sized bed, scrubbing his face. Overturned furniture, empty shot glasses, and champagne flutes littered the hotel room while a red thong dangled from the flat screen. He inched his fingers to grab the Stetson resting atop the tangled comforter. The trick lay in not disturbing the two women snoring on either side of him. Vegas trips were about fillies and fun—mission accomplished.
Right?
“What the?” A dove dive-bombed him, swooped to his left, and perched on the room-service cart to peck at a peanut from what appeared to be the remnants of a large hot fudge sundae. Who knew how a bird got in here, but at least the ice cream explained why his chest hair was sticky and, farther below, chocolate-covered fingerprints framed his six-pack. Looked like he had one helluva night. Too bad he couldn’t remember a damn thing. He should be high-fiving himself, but instead, he just felt dog-tired.
He emerged from beneath the covers and crawled to the bottom of the bed, head pounding like a bass drum. As he stood, the prior evening returned in splintered fragments. Blondie, on the right cuddling his empty pillow, was Crystal Balls aka the Stripping Magician. The marquee from her show advertised, “She has nothing up her sleeve.” Dark-hair on the left had been the assistant … Destiny? Dallas? Daisy?
Something with a D.
How in Houdini they all ended up in bed together is where the facts got fuzzy.A feather-trimmed sequined gown was crumpled by the mini bar and an old-man ventriloquist’s dummy appeared to track his furtive movements from the corner. Archer stepped over a Jim Beam bottle and crept toward the bathroom. Next mission? A thorough shower followed by the strongest coffee on the strip.
Coffee. Yes. Soon. Plus a short stack of buttermilk pancakes, a Denver omelet, and enough bacon to require the sacrifice of a dozen hogs. Starving didn’t come close to describing the hollow feeling in his gut, like he’d run a sub-four-hour marathon, scaled Everest, and then wrestled a two-ton longhorn. His reflection stared back from the bathroom mirror, circles under his green eyes and thick morning scruff. For the last year a discontented funk had risen within him. How many times had he insisted he was too young to be tied down to a serious committed relationship, job … or anything? Well, at twenty-seven he might not be geriatric, but he was getting too old for this bed-hopping shit.“What the hell are you doing?” he muttered to himself.
The facts were Mr. Brightwater wasn’t looking his best. His second cousin, Kit, gave him that nickname after he graced the cover of a “Boys of Brightwater” town calendar last year to support the local Lions Club. He’d been February and posed holding a red cardboard heart over his johnson to avoid an X rating, although as his big brother Sawyer dryly noted, “Not like most women around here haven’t already seen it.”
