Today we have the anniversary blog tour for Zeia Jameson and her contemporary romance, THROWBACK! Check it out and be sure to pick up your copy today!

Genre: Contemporary Romance

: : About Throwback : :

First comes love, then comes marriage.
Then comes...disaster.

In Livy's mind, prince charmings, happily ever afters and true love only exist in her world of books. Jeremy believes otherwise, and he's determined to prove he can be all of that for Livy.

All it takes is a little hope to embark on forever... until the unexpected turns their solid foundation into suffocating quicksand. And just like that, everything begins to crumble.

Spiraling out of control, Jeremy and Livy grow further apart with every day that passes.

But a glimpse of what once was reminds them that the fate of their future lies solely in their hands.

When life-altering love becomes earth-shattering heartache, only the past can mend it. If it isn't too late.

JEREMY

She’s fucking with me again and trying to make me squirm. She’s using confrontation as an intimidation mechanism, and I feel like she’s testing me to see if I’ll forcibly deny that I was checking her out or own up to my automatic masculine tendencies.

I feel like if I’m going to have any chance of getting her number—hell, even her name at this point—I should choose option B.

I look her square in the face and give her a good, confident smile. “Actually, I did.”

Looking at her eyes, I notice the sinister quality is fleeing and being replaced with slight surprise and a hint of satisfaction. “Hmm. A guy who admits he was checking out the goods. I like that.”

“Well, I didn’t figure you’d be wearing those jeans if you didn’t want people taking a peek.” I decide to go for a little teasing of my own. “And as long as I’m being honest, you know what else I checked out?”

She looks at me just like I thought she would. Like she knows I’m going to say her boobs. Or rack. Or tits. Or whatever other off-color term you could use to describe breasts. The smile leaves her face, and she gives me a look of disappointment. I admire that even though she is let down, she still locks eyes with me, awaiting my response. It makes me wonder if she’s had this exact same conversation countless times before. She gave me a little honesty, and she thinks I’m about to take advantage of that vulnerability.

How the fuck can I tell all of this about her just by looking at her face?

She leans into the bar and gets closer to my face. At the V of her shirt, the fabric loses connection with her skin, and if I were looking in that direction, I’d probably be able to get a great view of what was hidden underneath. But my eyes do not leave hers. “Yeah, what’s that, stud?” she says in a monotone but enunciates the d in the word stud, nearly making it its own syllable. She’s indicating that I need to choose my next words wisely.

I wait before I answer and stare at her for a few seconds. She looks so sad, like she wanted me to be different. There was a small glimmer of hope in her face before, and now it’s been extinguished.

I want to reignite it.

Here goes nothing.

“Your eyes,” I finally say. And, as I assumed, that takes her by surprise. But her reaction is hardly noticeable. I only see the minor adjustment of her face. Her eyes widen ever so slightly, and there is just the tiniest bit of a grin on the left side of her lips. But the best part is that I see the hope again.

Gone With the Ghost by Erin McCarthy - Guest Post & Promo

I've long been a fan of Erin McCarthy, so I'm thrilled to have her here to promote the first book in her latest series, Gone With the Ghost!  I also love a good paranormal mystery, so this one is definitely on my weekend to do list.  If you've read Erin's backlist you know she often talks about or has ghosts in her books, so this should be fun!

About the Book:

Bailey Burke has had a rough six months it's not easy thinking your romantic overtures toward your best friend caused him to kill himself. Except that's exactly what happened. Ryan is very much dead, having shot himself with his own police-issued gun. Guilt and grief shouldn't cause hallucinations though, but six months after Ryan went into the ground, Bailey is freaking out and swearing his ghost is standing in her kitchen. Which he is.

Ryan claims he didn't commit suicide, but was murdered, and he needs Bailey to help him find his killer so he can earn his ticket out of purgatory. Which contrary to national opinion is not their hometown of Cleveland. Ryan's counting on a stairway to heaven, as opposed to wings, since that might be a little unmanly for a cop, even a dead one.

An expert in home design, with her own staging business, Bailey can tell you where to place a couch to improve flow and comfort, but solving a crime? Not her area of expertise. But with help from Ryan's former partner, Marner, she is unraveling the mystery of what happened to Ryan that day and unwittingly putting herself in grave danger.

Erin, thanks for stopping by BiblioJunkies HQ!  Can you tell us a little about Gone With the Ghost?

Erin:

Two things I was obsessed with as a kid- ghosts and murder mysteries. Yes, I was a weird child. Yes, my mother debated therapy for me at one point given my active imagination and macabre hobbies, but she decided to trust her gut and let it play out. Now she’s happy to know I’m not a psychopath, I’m just a writer. Starting a new series and branching into mystery from romance was an easy leap for me. I always loved adding an element of mystery to my romance novels and I’ve been a mystery reader since childhood.

When my daughter was a baby and I had zero money, I went to the library three or four times a week and eventually checked out every Agatha Christie book they had (close to 60, I would guess) and then worked my way through all their cozy mysteries. If it had a kitten or a cupcake on the cover, I was all over it! So when the opportunity came along to create a mystery series, my heroine Bailey popped into my head immediately. An amateur sleuth with a love for fashion and HGTV yet who grows intrigued by mayhem and murder? Very close to my heart. While I’ve always been fascinated by ghost stories, I honestly am not even sure where the idea for the ghostly sidekick came from. Suddenly Ryan was there talking and the first book just about wrote itself.

If your best friend came back as a ghost, what would be the first thing you would do with them?

Here’s a snipped of Bailey and Ryan’s friendship:

“You really have lost too much weight.”
“What?”  I spun around and found Ryan staring at me critically.  So much for his closed eyes.  The aqua and yellow shirt was in my hand.  Not on my body yet.  Which meant I was only in panties and a bra, and he was staring at me.  Damn.
“You look too skinny.  Men like women with something they can grab onto.”
Nice to know even in death he found me unattractive.  I rolled my eyes at the hangers.  “Thank you.  I’ll remember that next time I’m looking for a man to grab me.”
“Hey, I just had a thought.  I wonder if I can still get a hard on?”
Good grief.  “You could have kept that thought to yourself.”
“No, I’m serious.”  Ryan sounded agitated, but I refused to look at him.  “Man, I don’t know which would be worse- never getting it up ever again, or getting it up and not being able to do anything about it.”
We were wading into waters I could very easily drown in.  “I’m sure there’s a hot ghost or two in purgatory you can investigate this issue with.”
“I can’t wait that long- this is scary.  Quick, just turn around, and take your bra off.  Let’s see what happens.  I have to know.”
Nothing could get me into my shirt and wide-leg trousers faster than that.  “You’re not going to be aroused by me.  We’re friends.  It’s not the same.”  Unfortunately.  “So forget it.  I’m not taking my bra off in front of you.  Pop into the Crazyhorse Saloon tonight and get the answers to all your sexual questions.  That’s what sixteen year old boys do.”
I smoothed my shirt in place, finished buttoning my white pants and turned to him.  “Look, I’ll help you do whatever it takes to find your killer, but I have to draw the line somewhere.”
“I’d take my pants off if you asked me to.”
It was tempting, but I controlled myself.

And there you have it folks, mystery, hornball ghosts - what more can you ask for?  Thanks to Erin McCarthy for guest posting with us and providing us a sneak peak at Gone With the Ghost!  Ghosts not your thing?  Check out Erin's extensive backlist - seriously, she's written just about everything in the romance genre, there's sure to be a plethora of goodies there for you to enjoy!  My favorites are Bad Boys Online (her story is awesome!), the True Believers Series (god this series gets me every freaking time!), and Houston We Have A Problem.

The Enemies of Versailles Spotlight & Guest Post

Book 3 in the Mistresses of Versailles Trilogy by

Sally Christie

The Enemies of Versailles

(historical fiction) Release date: March 21, 2017 at Atria Books/Simon & Schuster 416 pages ISBN: 978-1501103025

SYNOPSIS

In the final installment of Sally Christie’s “tantalizing” (New York Daily News) Mistresses of Versailles trilogy, Jeanne Becu, a woman of astounding beauty but humble birth, works her way from the grimy back streets of Paris to the palace of Versailles, where the aging King Louis XV has become a jaded and bitter old philanderer. Jeanne bursts into his life and, as the Comtesse du Barry, quickly becomes his official mistress. “That beastly bourgeois Pompadour was one thing; a common prostitute is quite another kettle of fish.” After decades of suffering the King’s endless stream of Royal Favorites, the princesses of the Court have reached a breaking point. Horrified that he would bring the lowborn Comtesse du Barry into the hallowed halls of Versailles, Louis XV’s daughters, led by the indomitable Madame Adelaide, vow eternal enmity and enlist the young dauphiness Marie Antoinette in their fight against the new mistress. But as tensions rise and the French Revolution draws closer, a prostitute in the palace soon becomes the least of the nobility’s concerns. Told in Christie’s witty and engaging style, the final book in The Mistresses of Versailles trilogy will delight and entrance fans as it once again brings to life the sumptuous and cruel world of eighteenth century Versailles, and France as it approaches irrevocable change.

GUEST POST BY SALLY CHRIST

One always wonders what amazing bits of information authors come across during their research. Sally Christie shares with us one of the stranger things she discovered during her research for The Enemies of Versailles.

Merkins, Oh My!

When writing historical fiction, the best part about the research process is the funny and often quirky anecdotes that you uncover. While researching The Enemies of Versailles, I had to deep dive into the seedy underworld of Paris vice, as that was the world that Jeanne, the eventual Comtesse du Barry and Louis XV’s last mistress, came from. Before coming to the king’s attention, Jeanne was a casual courtesan, pimped out by her lover, the Comte du Barry, a minor noble who ran a gambling hall where he entertained some of the Versailles high aristocrats who also became Jeanne’s clients / lovers.

While researching that world, I discovered that merkins – those little pubic wigs – were quite popular in the 18th century. Syphilis was rampant in 18th century France and one of the side effects was baldness, including baldness “down there”. Apparently prostitutes used the merkin to avoid showing the symptoms of the deadly disease and keep their business going. Yikes.

In 18th century Paris, if you had the money, you could indulge any of your fetishes or desires, no matter how debauched or technically illegal. I gave one of my characters a fetish for pubic hair and took the idea of the merkin one step further: he was collecting the pubic hair of his many (syphilis-free, one presumes) lovers, in order to make a wig out of the combined hairs! I wonder what that should be called?

Thanks Sally Christie! Now there's some trivia to bust out at the next party!

wound-tight
About Wound Tight: A sexy new M/M romance from New York Times Bestselling author Tessa Bailey   When CEO Renner Bastion walks into a room, everyone keeps their distance. Well, everyone but the sarcastic, tattooed, Boston-bred security guard whose presence has kept Renner in New Jersey longer than intended. As if the unwanted attraction isn’t unsettling enough, Renner finds out his protector isn’t as unavailable as originally thought.   Milo Bautista just came out to his wealthy, ultra-confident boss, a man he secretly respects and admires…in more ways than he’ll admit. Worldly, experienced Renner would never look in his direction, let alone share some of that confidence he wears like a cloak, so Milo has set his sights on someone else to be his first.   Until Renner offers him private lessons in seduction...

We were lucky enough to have Tessa stop by today to talk about her inspiration for Wound Tight!  Welcome Tessa!

What inspired the characters in Wound Tight?

Renner Bastion is the villain of this series. He’s the brooding factory owner and entrepreneur who played fast in loose with our beloved characters’ emotions in previous books. So when I decided to redeem him—and give him a happily ever after—I knew the person who rose to the challenge of thawing his cynical heart would need to be special. That person turned out to be a man. And even though I’d never written a M/M book before, Renner’s story didn’t feel right until I crafted scrappy, glass half full, Bostonian security guard, Milo Bautista, to be his other half.

The dynamic between these two was inspired by The Odd Couple. True story. Renner is not about to learn any new romantic tricks, until Milo comes out to him and asks to be taught everything Renner knows. In order to land another man. Dun-dun-dun.

Originally, I wanted there to be an over-the-top angsty push and pull between Renner and Milo, but it worked out differently than expected. As my stories often do! There is an age difference between them, not only in number, but in life experience. Where that starts as an obstacle, those differences turn out to be exactly what they need. It’s torrid and hot, it’s nurturing and nagging, it’s funny and sweet. Most of all, it’s perfectly right.

Thanks for much for stoppng by Tessa!  We love Wound Tight!  It's a phenomenal first foray into the m/m world and we hope you write many more!

Tessa Bailey Bio: Author Bio: Tessa Bailey is originally from Carlsbad, California. The day after high school graduation, she packed her yearbook, ripped jeans and laptop, driving cross-country to New York City in under four days.   Her most valuable life experiences were learned thereafter while waitressing at K-Dees, a Manhattan pub owned by her uncle. Inside those four walls, she met her husband, best friend and discovered the magic of classic rock, managing to put herself through Kingsborough Community College and the English program at Pace University at the same time. Several stunted attempts to enter the work force as a journalist followed, but romance writing continued to demand her attention.   She now lives in Long Island, New York with her husband of nine years and four-year-old daughter. Although she is severely sleep-deprived, she is incredibly happy to be living her dream of writing about people falling in love.

Sex on the Beach Blog Tour and Guest Post by Jen McLaughlin

We are thrilled to be a part of the Sex on the Beach Blog Tour featuring a guest post by Jen McLaughlin.  We are freezing here in Chicagoland, so this series is just what the doctor ordered!  So, help us welcome Jen to the blog!

Thank you so much for having me here today to talk about my latest Sex on the Beach book, LOSING US! LOSING US picks up a little while after BETWEEN US leaves off, and it follows Austin Murphy and Mackenzie Forbes once again! Whenever you revisit a couple from a previous book, it’s always a challenge.
When people expressed an interest in more from the three books we originally wrote for Sex on the Beach (WE being me, Jennifer Probst, and Jenna Bennett), we were excited. But the thing is, when you go back to a couple who had a previously happy ending, chances are? Someone out there isn’t going to be happy with you.
I actually got some pretty harshly worded emails, because I took a couple they liked and put them through more drama. People want more from their favorite characters and get excited when a writer decides to go back to that couple for more, but if writers are going to write more about a set of characters…something has to happen to them, or else you’re writing about them doing crossword puzzles and brushing their teeth.
And I don’t know about you, but I find that extremely boring to read about. ;)
So, for this blog post, I thought it would be fun to have a little discussion about this topic. Tell me: Would you rather authors continue to revisit the characters you love, or would you prefer they be finished with one book, and they continue to live happily ever after in your mind?
I’m curious to see the replies!

Losing Us by Jen McLaughlin

Someone has to pick up the pieces...
Mackenzie Forbes was everything I ever wanted and the one person I didn't deserve. When a past mistake costs me the girl I love, I'll do everything I can to get her back. We both have demanding careers and family secrets darkening our pasts, but I need Mackenzie in my future.

Looking for Love Blog Tour - Guest Post with Erin Kern & Molly Cannon

We are thrilled to be a part of the Looking for Love Blog Tour!  To celebrate the release of their latest works, Erin Kern and Molly Cannon stopped by to talk about their Top 5 Favorite Things About Summer.

Erin Kern is the author of the Trouble series (Looking for Trouble, Here Comes Trouble and Along Came Trouble).

Erin's Top 5 Favorite Things About Summer:

5.  Sunsets - Although Texas has some of the most spectacular sunsets around, there's something about the sun disappearing behind the Wyoming foothills.

4.  The sound of locusts - This might be a strange one to some of you, and this really has nothing to do with my writing.  But anyone who's lived in Texas or spent a summer here, knows what I'm talking about.  For me, it's summer's soundtrack.

3.  Lightning bugs - Again, a Texas thing.  Actually not sure if they get these in Wyoming.  But put yourself in a wooded area in Texas, in the summer, and you're bound to see some lightning bugs.  And, want to go one even better?  Try catching one in a Mason jar.  Now, that's summer!

2.  Swimming - Specifically in a local lake, which we have a ton of in Texas.  But I love a good romance where the H/h take a cooling dip in a lake.  At night.  With lightning bugs in the trees.

1.  Road trips - Who doesn't love just hopping in the car and going wherever impulse takes you?  Sort of what Avery does in Looking for Trouble.

Molly Cannon is the author of Ain't Misbehaving and Crazy Little Thing Called Love.

Molly Cannon's Top 5 Favorite Things About Summer

1.  Vacation.  Getting away from it all whether it is visiting family or exploring some place new.  I love having a break in the regular routine.  Staying in a nice Bed & Breakfast like the Hazelnut Inn is always one of my favorite things to do!

2.  Going barefoot!  While many of my friends are crazy about shoes, I'm crazy about not having to wear them at all.  Barefoot is my footwear of choice.

3.  Flowers!  I love seeing all the colors popping up in my yard.  White daisies, purple irises, orange day lilies, pink vincas - ah!  I get such joy filling all the pots on my patio with as many different plants as possible, so when the Hazelnut Inn needed to be spruced up quickly, Noah designs flowering container plantings to fill the porches and patios.

4.  Snow cones.  To say Texas summers are hot is an understatement.  Nothing is better for cooling down on a hot, lazy afternoon than a cherry snow cone.  Luckily, I have a drive thru stand close to my house, so that helps with the lazy part.

5.  Cook outs with family and friends.  BBQ, hamburgers, hotdogs, corn on the cob, potato salad, baked beans, and homemade ice cream - throw in a cold beer or a pitcher of iced tea and I'm a happy camper.  Donny Joe's Ham in the Hole takes it to a whole other level.

Thank you ladies!  We couldn't agree more, we love all the food, friends and lovely memories of summer (but especially the food)!
