The author of Flirting with Scandal presents her third book
in a sexy contemporary romance series about three sisters in a powerful
political family, the scandals that threaten to destroy them, and the passion
that drives them…
Kate Reynolds has just graduated from college and is
determined to make it on her own. Her job as a junior political analyst at the
CIA is a dream come true and the perfect opportunity to find answers about the
night that’s plagued her for four years—the night she lost her fiancé, Matt, on
a Special Forces mission in Afghanistan. Kate’s consumed with uncovering the
truth and avenging the man she loved and lost, even if it means risking her own
life to prove that his death wasn’t an accident.
When she gets too close to discovering what happened that
fateful night and danger arrives on her doorstep, Kate’s stunned by the man who
comes to her rescue. Together, they begin to dig for the truth, fighting to
stay alive as they’re dragged down into a world of secrets and lies. But when
the threat hits close to home, Kate must choose between vengeance and a future
with the man who’s ignited a fire inside her that she thought died long ago.
Chanel Cleeton saved her best for last in the third and
final installment of the Capital Confessions series. Kate the bitter youngest
daughter of Senator Reynolds and sister of Jackie and Blair, who we met in
books 1 and 2, is a tough-spirited and independent young woman who’s bent on avenging
the death of her fiancé, Matt. Kate believes that her father and Matt’s father
were involved in his death and has spent the last four years studying,
researching and making noise to uncover the truth. Her digging has now landed
her in trouble as she becomes the unwitting target that needs to be silenced
immediately. But there is someone in the shadows who's on her side, who's bound and determined to protect her
no matter what the cost. Now it’s up to Kate to accept that help. But she is
stubborn and having been fueled entirely by her rage the last few years, it’s
hard for her to just stop her investigation even though it might get her
killed.
Falling For Danger has action, suspense, twists and heat
that readers will doubtless enjoy. Best of all is that we finally get a
close-up look at the infamous Senator Reynolds who has played a heavy hand in
the lives of his daughters. He’s a delightful piece of work and it’s clear why
his daughters distance themselves from him. Despite being a little naïve about
her safety, Kate refuses to back down. I really admired Kate’s bravery and the
guts she had to continue to fight for justice.
I’ve said this before in my review for this series, if you’re
a Scandal fan and want some of that seedy political intrigue mixed with some
passionate romance, then you should definitely pick this up!
